Are you a manager in an industry that has, historically, a high rate of employee turnover? It's unfortunate that this can plague certain industries and can certainly make it difficult to maintain a full staff. If you are particularly hard-hit by this phenomenon, could it be that you are not reaching the right type of people or failing to screen them correctly? What methods should you be considering as you embark on your next wave of recruitment?

Using the Tools

Like it or not, social media seems to be here to stay. Some of the biggest platforms now reach billions of people across the world and are likely in widespread use within your potential employee pool. If you're looking to recruit young people in particular, you can be sure that they are active within the major social media platforms and this gives you many opportunities to not only reach them but to screen them as well.

Setting Some Ads

Did you know that you can be very granular whenever you advertise on some of the bigger networks so that you can serve adverts to the ideal prospects for your position? These adverts may then be displayed within the newsfeed of the prospect so that they are made aware of your company and open position while they are reading posts from family and friends. In fact, you may reach somebody who wasn't even thinking of such a position but who then becomes interested and could eventually become one of your prized employees.

Seeing Who Is out There

If you want to be really proactive, you could even search for potential candidates by using targeted keywords. Once again, you may come across somebody who may never have applied for the position otherwise but who could be perfect for the job.

Doing Some Digging

Remember also, that social media accounts can give valuable insight into the individual personality of the prospect. If you feel that you need to check the background of somebody who doesn't feel 'quite right' after an interview, this may provide you with the relevant information necessary for you to make a decision.

Pre-interview

Finally, remember that social media provides the opportunity to talk with somebody one on one, either through a simple chat or through their video feed. This means that you can pre-screen somebody so that you narrow down your interview base, and this may be more cost-effective not only for you but for prospective candidates as well.

Bringing in an Agency

To really make a difference and hopefully turn around your turnover numbers, why not consider getting a recruitment service to do the heavy lifting for you instead?
